Donald Trump responds to Lindsey Graham
by Nathan'ette Burdine: August 17, 2017

Earlier this morning, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to hit back at Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for calling him out by name for his cold response to the white supremacists’ terrorist attack on Charlottesville, Virginia, which left three people dead.

Graham tweeted, “Mr. President, I encourage you to try to bring together as a nation after this horrific event in Charlottesville. Your words are dividing America, not healing them.”

Trump, who blamed the violence on “many sides,” doesn’t like the fact that Graham and other rational folks recognize that Trump’s comments have received praise from white supremacists’ groups.

The Daily Stormer, a white supremacist website, and former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke all praised Trump for not solely blaming the white supremacists for the violence that left Heather Heyer and State Troopers Lt. H. Jay Cullen and Berke M. Bates dead.

Trump didn’t take to Twitter or call a press conference to reject the white supremacists’ endorsement of his comments.

But he did take time out early this morning to tweet his disgust at Sen. Graham who called him out for not calling out the white supremacists.

Trump tweeted about Graham, “Publicity seeking Lindsey Graham falsely stated that I said there is moral equivalency between the KKK, neo-Nazis & white supremacists and people like Ms. Heyer. Such a disgusting lie. He just can’t forget his election trouncing. The people of South Carolina will remember!”

The House Homeland Security Committee will hold hearings to discuss the growing threat of white supremacists' groups to the nation's security.
